RSS feeds...

RSS feeds are not new to me - I actually already have a google reader... though I don't use it that often - I suffer from information overload, or not enough time...

I opened up my own Bloglines and posted 15 feeds. Some of them are news, some on literature, others are blogs. The Powerhouse Museum blog is also there - full of interesting photos.

Questions answered:

What do you like about RSS and newsreaders?
- Convenience of having news come in as it is written.
What sites did you select for your RSS reader?
- Too many! 15 for the moment. BBC, Arts... etc.
How do you think you might be able to use this technology in your work?
- At work it could come in handy if I want to know about something specific like the latest books released.
How can libraries use RSS or take advantage of this new technology?
- Libraries can use it to make sure user's are up to date with the events and other happenings at the library.
Did you find any good examples of other library blogs?
Haven't presently got the time (at work) to look into others... sorry!

Apologies for my rather dry blog today... I don't have much time on my hand.

A fate perhaps undeserved...

A ruined library... mad rampage... an angry, drunkard... mother nature's quake... this book depository was all of these things and more, to those of us with high expectations of the world...

These dramatic thoughts aside - Flickr is after all quite a resource. I am having fun finding all sorts of depressing pictures of libraries... they are all depressing, whether beautiful or ugly.

I am having a good day, truly.

One of my idylls...

The Old Library

I shouldn't be so harsh. But you can't help it when you see such beautiful libraries like this one...
